Logon Workshop by Kizza1994 Logon Workshop by Kizza1994
This tool was originally designed by DEJCO, but was removed from deviantART for unknown reasons. I have simply re-uploaded a copy of the original .rar file. The program an advanced logon editing application for Windows 7, with the ability to completely personalize your Logon/Login screen to the way of your choice.

Check out the read-me in the download

All credit to DEJCO.

This application is magnificent, hope people will start to develop logons to add to its collection. Please link me to any logon's designed for use with Logon Workshop, i will add them to the download. :) Thanks-guys.

This changes the Windows version thing to always say Professional, even after clicking default. Is there any fix for this (I'm not using Professional)?

when i try to apply XR-5 Logon Screen Asus Version - By 9lwane, it's said something about the basebrd.dll in use or something, if i press continue, it will just stuck there and do nothing else.
if i choose quit, the whole application quit leaving nothing in my desktop, i have to start explorer from the task manager.
Then i changed it back to the default one, and try another logon screen changer like Tweak Logon, the app said the image is successfully changed but when i test it, it still the default one...
any advise?? :(

I've switched the skin with one already included, and then got back to the default one. Now If I try to change the background image with another tool, like LogonScreenTweaker or LogonBackgroundChanger, they tell me the image has been changed, but in fact I am stuck with the default one!

How do I get back to the REAL default condition? Before using this tool I could change the background image with all the other tools I previously mentioned, now I can't do it anymore, even if I've applied the default skin.

Ey Kizza!

Thanks for sharing this awesome program! I have one question, if I replace the background.jpg of a theme with my 1920x1080 jpg picture (also named background.jpg) and set the theme my background isn't sharp. How can I change the logon background to my 1920x1080 screen size with a nice wallpaper that fits well?!

Thanks!

Hey Yosecret,

Hmm, that's odd! I recommend you try an alternative program to amend the wallpaper. Assuming all you're trying to do it change that. If you're also looking to edit the layout, I suggest you remove "background", and change the layout in addition to using alternative software.

I used Logonstudio, but the wallpaper didn't changed. If I delete the background image from the theme and install the theme again it is still using the same wallpaper. The background is saved somewhere, but I cannot change it. I will try some others programs, thanks for the help!

oh, and just incase someone crashes his or her computer by accident like bidibi~, a safe thing do would be to have any one of the linux liveCDs that let you test before installation ready on a bootable flash drive or disk so you can restore the messed up files before you boot into windows

Unfortunately, no one has made any. :/ However, you can get a very custom look through the simple editing of the placement of the user tile, loading circle, etc.

it's still me. I succeeded applying the pre-installed styles, so I tried changing the background of one of them and all went right, but then it all got out of my hand when I edited some of the bitmaps and rebooted: the shutdown was incredibily slow and then...my computer didn't boot anymore. after the windows logo, there is no screen where to type the password: only a black background with my mouse pointer, and nothing else. I tried typing my password anyway and pressing enter, but it didn't work. PLEASE HELP MEEE I don't even have the win7 cd since my notebook came with win7 already installed...what can I do, apart from committing suicide? It also occurs when I choose to boot in safe mode. It's the hundredth time I mess things up with my computer in 20 years...

well try to do a system restore:
Start by booting the system using the Safe Mode With Command Prompt option. Boot Menu button varies from computer to computer, refer to manual. After you log on, type the following command line at the command prompt:

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

Press [Enter], and System Restore will run as it normally does. You can follow the steps in the wizard to perform a restore operation.

or there are many bypassing programs on the net which will bypass without you having to type your password....did you try typing the first letter of your username and then hitting enter followed by your password....

Okay, editing the bitmaps can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. The black screen should not occurs when the bitmaps in authui.dll are not the right size, or correct image type. You can use another PC to 'legally' download windows 7 of your desired type, burn or copy to a USB with sufficient capacity, and boot from it. I had the black screen occur when using other Logon editing programs prior to LW, I simply restarted my PC and waited... a long time. Also, you can use the boot menu and use CMD to fix authui.dll. Look up a video on youtube for this, as I do not know the steps. Email me if you need some help: Kieran.Lark@gmail.com :)

thank you for your answer but it's just too late :) I tried the eRecovery Management procedure (my notebook is an Acer Aspire) but there was an unknown problem so the system was not able to re-install the O.S. on its own. Luckily, I succeeded doing a backup of my personal data...soonafter the PC got stuck with the message "BOOTMGR is missing" and nothing else to do. It took me 40 € to reinstall my O.S. but I'm happy with that, I still have my data (which is the most important) and I enjoyed pretending to be a geek for a while XD ! I think you should add a HUGE warning in your description, there's plenty of noobs like me in the world :) may God bless you... bye!

I replied to your journal entry, but so other users don't think this is a virus or any kind o sinister material I will essentially re=post that I have already told you. Im almost positive your issue is a result from a battery or timer virus, there is no way this program can remove a file. It simply amends them... It's unfortunate the repair came at a cost, however, i'm certain this program had no relationship with regards to that. I'm glad you have your data, please be careful when using non-commercial programs(they make up most of the internet), they can be dangerous, more so when used incorrectly. God bless you too. :)

I did the exact same thing as this guy, edited bitmaps, and have the exact same problem, a black logon screen, you said you waited, exactly how long did you wait?

Indeed this is a serious issue and for me it wasn't caused because of bitmaps or any other image file i was playing it but with animation. When i selected very slow option for a custom made picture it showed a black screen and nothing happened. Tried system restore as well but it wasn't of any use.

What helped was command prompt. I started the PC in command prompt. Went where i was tweaking and making my custom made log on and i deleted that folder and voila! I was able to log back on without any problems.

If someone knows basic cmd commands then he\she won't have any problems from this software in case anything goes wrong and one is unable to log on. Command we need are "cd" "cd.." "del". Use cd command to navigate up to the desired directory and then use the del command to delete that folder.

Hope that helps everyone encountering this annoying issue on misc occasions.

Cheers!

I'd love to use this tool, but I keep on trying with no success. Somebody here wrote something about taking ownership of authui.dll and basebrd.dll. I've just done it, but I still get the same error (after rebooting too). The error message I get says something about an exception that cannot be handled - I don't know if the words I've just written are correct, my computer works in italian so this is a translation. Please let me know if you want me to post a screenshot and/or the entire text of the popup - which is in italian, but I can try my best to translate it.
Btw thank you for reuploading :)

Yeah, don't combine programs with "Logon Workshop". The reason for your error is simply due to conflict from whatever you changed. You would have noticed authui.dll did not have the bmp's that "Logon Workshop" uses to theme your logon screen... Please be careful when combining logon editing software with other editing, authui is a critical file so I dont mess with it unless you are certain you know what you're doing. It is so easy to corrupt (Trust me...) if you have administrator privileges, you can use cmd in the boot menu to restore the original, providing you made a backup and know its exact name.
